"My Prayer"

Out of the Dark

The darkness of night is like the sin in one's life,
It consumes and conceals the Truth and the Light.
When in it, you think there's no possible way out,
But actually it's before when a new day can start.

It holds you and binds you, not letting you see,
The only way out is on bended knee.
The path is obscured, you can't find the way,
But it's there, if only you would start to pray.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light,
The One who takes darkness out of our sight.
He forgives and cleanses us from all of our sin,
In prayer we will find Him, it's the place to begin.

Lord, You have delivered me from every sin,
And changed the darkness to light deep from within.
You have turned the darkness of night, into the brightness of day,
The debt to sure death, You have taken away.

And now there's one more thing I ask, as I pray,
That You help me to show others your Light and Your Way.
For I have known the darkness and despair of being in sin,
My soul torn to pieces, not knowing how again to begin.

I know that You work all things out into good,
Even though I have not always done as I should.
Please help me to bring light into their darkness, where I've been,
So that they may see You and know too, how to begin.
